Wave! Astronauts overhead
The International Space Station frequently passes over Broken Hill’s sky. As a speed of 7 km per second it will orbit Earth about 16 times a day.
There are plenty more viewing opportunities likely in the future.
Outback Astronomy will be looking overhead for a good four minutes of viewing on Thursday 27 March at 8.18pm.
The ISS will be quite high in the sky at this most reasonable time – so it should be another great pass overhead.
The ISS spotting opportunities are identified by the Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas. Broken Hill is one of their 4,600 locations. Use this link to find future schedules and times: http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/#UyvemmmKCN0
